Manual testing
Running a manual test
The run wizard, the four outcomes, and what is recorded.
Select one or more cases and press Run. Cettara opens the wizard at the first step and records as you go, so an interrupted run is never lost.
The four outcomes
| Outcome | Means |
|---|---|
| Passed | What the step said would happen, happened. |
| Failed | It did not. Say what you saw instead. |
| Blocked | You could not try it — the environment was down, a dependency was missing. |
| Skipped | You deliberately did not try it. |
A note is optional on a pass and worth writing on everything else. Some checks ask for a screenshot before they can pass; the wizard says so.
Finishing
Finish turns the step results into a result per case: a case with any failed step failed. Abandon ends the run without results, for when you started the wrong thing.
A finished run appears in Runs, in milestone progress, and in reports.
Picking it up later
A run you did not finish is waiting for you on My work. Anybody with access to the project can see the run; the results record who actually did it.
